|Left-handed pitcher Mitch Stetter, who played with the Springfield Rifles in 2000, made his Major League debut on September 1 for the Milwaukee Brewers at home against Pittsburgh. Stetter allowed a run and a hit in his debut.
On September 7 Stetter made his second appearance at Cincinnati pitching two hitless and scoreless innings.

This brings the total of CICL alumni who later played Major League baseball to 169 in its 44 year history.
